2012 Co-Chairmen Ann Unes and Georgia Gingrich

These are fun days for meeting other members while learning something new.  Locations are varied, and the costs are usually between $10 and $20.  You bring your sewing supplies, machine and items specified on the supply lists, as well as your lunch.  We have a table at the meetings, so come see us and SIGN UP!!

 January 21 – Brigadoon

A fun, easy way to make a Delectable Mountains quilt,  based on a technique developed and tested by Faye Cunningham of Perth Australia and taught by Georgia Gingrich.

Location:  Proctor Professional Building, Classroom #3  Time: 9 am – 2 pm 
Cost $10

 

 February 25 – Scrap Happy 

Help make Little Gems quilts to donate to St. Jude!       We will be using fabric donated in precut pieces – 2 ½, 4 ½, 5 ½, 6 ½” squares and 2 ½” strips. We will sew these into 10 ½ inch blocks.  This class will be promoted by Family House, and we hope to have some of their guests and staff join us, so we will be also be there to help mentor their sewing.

March 17  – National Quilting Day/ Quilt Fairies 

Could you use a helping hand to get a UFO finished?  You might enjoy a sewing day that includes a few “Quilting Fairies” who will cut, sew and/or press to help you along!   

Location:  To be announced                       Time:  9 am – 2 pm  Cost $15
 

April 21 -         Fabric Potluck                                   

We will all bring food fabrics & will exchange them, then each sew our own picnic quilt! Georgia will teach and then we’ll be ready for nice weather and picnics!

 

May 19 –     Value – Light, Dark or In-Between?

Carol Brooks teaches us about the importance of VALUE in our quilts, and how to determine what’s what!

 

June  -     Boutique Projects             

Using quick and simple project handouts, we’ll be sewing for the boutique at the Quilt Show. Help the guild, have some fun with other members and learn something new!

August - Pillow Talk              

Let’s make pillows out of orphan blocks or unused cross stitch projects.

 

September      Quick Sew Christmas Gifts  

Simple easy projects for Christmas gifts.
